About

Dr. Michael K. Murphy is a board-certified Otolaryngologist and Head and Neck Surgeon specializing in comprehensive adult and pediatric ear, nose, and throat care. His clinical expertise includes the medical and surgical management of nasal and sinus disorders, allergy disease, laryngology and voice disorders, sleep apnea, head and neck masses, facial trauma, and airway conditions. He is committed to providing patient-centered care with a focus on education, communication, and evidence-based treatment.

Dr. Murphy attended medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his internship in General Surgery at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, followed by postdoctoral research training at Johns Hopkins University under the mentorship of leaders in laryngology and rhinology. He then completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Murphy has also served as an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at UMass Chan Medical School. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations focused on airway disorders, laryngotracheal stenosis, inflammation, fibrosis, and quality improvement in otolaryngology. His research has been presented at national and international meetings, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Annual Meeting and the Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meetings. He remains dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered otolaryngologic care with an emphasis on safety, education, and individualized treatment.
