About

Dr. Angela Chan is Chief of the Section of Allergy at White Plains Hospital, where she specializes in asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, anaphylaxis, chronic rhinosinusitis, urticaria, food allergy and drug allergy. Dr. Chan attended the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, a combined Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degree program, where she was awarded the Dean’s Medal for Academic Achievement. She earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, where she was selected to receive the Gold Humanism Award.

Dr. Chan completed her residency in pediatrics at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medicine, and fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Chan is board-certified in allergy & immunology as well as pediatrics.

She was actively involved in clinical research on different allergic and immunologic conditions in adults and children and is the author of over a dozen papers and posters accepted for publication and/or presentations at webinars and national conferences. During fellowship, she conducted research on the impact of underlying allergic disease in hospitalized COVID-19 patients, and longitudinal outcomes for children admitted for Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children, the latter of which was accepted for publication in the journal Pediatrics.

Dr. Chan’s interests include food allergy prevention and treatment, use of biologics as add-on therapies in targeted allergic diseases (including certain clinical phenotypes of severe and poorly controlled asthma, atopic dermatitis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps), and outpatient efforts to improve antimicrobial stewardship, particularly in penicillin allergy de-labeling.

She enjoys treating both adults and children with allergic conditions and is committed to delivering compassionate care and working together with families to educate and empower them with accurate, evidence-based information, to lead better quality of life.
