Shariq Ahmad, MBBS

Dr. Shariq Ahmad is a nephrologist with White Plains Hospital Physician Associates who has over 20 years of experience as a general Nephrologist well versed in investigations, diagnosis and management of in all aspects of general Nephrology.

Before joining White Plains Hospital Physician Associates, Dr. Ahmad practiced with Nephrology Associates of Utah and served as Medical Director of several dialysis centers. He previously practiced nephrology and internal medicine in Florida and Texas, and held numerous clinical leadership positions, including Chief of the Department of Medicine at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ahmad has taught medical residents.

Dr. Ahmad earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in New Jersey, followed by a fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr. Ahmad is board certified in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, has published extensively on kidney disease and dialysis and is the author of a book titled, The Silent Assassin: How Stealthy Kidney Diseases Are Interwoven in the Fabric of Our Society, exploring kidney disease and its impact on public health.
