Caroline DeFilippo, MD

Dr. Caroline DeFilippo, MD, MPH, FACP, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who provides comprehensive primary care for adults, with a focus on preventive medicine, chronic disease management and helping patients achieve lifelong health and wellness.

Dr. DeFilippo has extensive primary care and physician leadership experience. Before joining White Plains Hospital Physician Associates, she served as Senior Medical Director of Primary Care and Population Health at Optum New York, where she led more than 200 physicians and advanced practice providers across 20 locations. She held a physician leadership position at Westmed Medical Group prior to joining Optum. She has been practicing Internal Medicine in Westchester county since 2012.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. DeFilippo has led innovative programs in population health, palliative care, quality improvement and physician education. She has been an invited national speaker on primary care transformation and healthcare delivery and has received numerous honors recognizing her leadership and commitment to excellence, including 2026 Woman of Distinction for the 93rd New York State Assembly District, Westchester Magazine's Healthcare Hero, Distinguished Optum Physician Partner and the Optum Health Patient Choice Award.

Dr. DeFilippo earned her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine through the Primary Care Track at Mount Sinai.
